Jaguars – Summer 1 – Week 2 2/5/25

5 May 2025
Jaguars

As our second weeek draws to a close the children have enjoyed an assembly lead by Mr Rust and one lead by a Road Safety Heroes mentor.

Road Safety is of much importance to us here at Bozeat, therefore we kindly ask for your support in continuing to create a safe envrionment when using the roads just outside of school. The zebra crossing at the bottom of Harrold road can be used to cross the road, looking in both directions before crossing and wearing helmets when using bikes and scooters are just a few road safety rules we encourage your children to follow.

Writing

This week the children come to a close on their poems. All of which were fantastic to read. We have now moved onto our next unit of Persuasive writing. The children have started their learning of this by completing a cold write where they were asked to persuade parents of school to attend sports day.

Maths

The children have begun working on their new unit of Fractions where they have looked at adding and subtracting fractions, the whole and unit fractions of an amount of objects. They are beginning to understand the idea of denominators and numerators now.

Science

During Science this week the children have worked with Mrs Griffin to recap the digestive system and share an understanding of the different parts and how these work to allow us to pass food and drink through our bodies. They then moved onto discussion about the teeth and the important role these play everyday.

Please do encourage 10-15 minutes a day of TTrockstars. If your child does not have their login then please do let me know and I will source a new one for them but these should be found in the front of their reading logs. They should be practicing their 3s, 4s and 8s in Year 3. If they are already confident in their 2s, 5s, 10s then please do not allow them to only be accessing these as this does not provide them with enough challenge for their levels.
