Week Beginning 21st October
We have come to the end of our first half term. The weeks have flown by and the children have been very busy!
Last week the children learnt the story of The Magic Porridge Pot so to end this unit of work, they made porridge for an afternoon snack. They talked about the oats, describing what they looked like and then observed the changes as it cooked. The children enjoyed adding the milk and stirring the mixture. Once cooked, they were able to add honey if they wanted and they all enjoyed eating the porridge.
Phonics
This week the children have been learning the sounds v, w, y. Links to the films will be emailed out today so the children can access these at home.
Maths
The children have been investigating sharing this week, they have used the words fewer, more and equals to describe how many items somebody has and looked at ways they can share things equally.
In art this week the children looked at the art work created by Kandinsky. They then had a go at refining their circle drawing skills using anticlockwise movements. After half term they will be creating their own circle pictures just like Kandinsky.
We hope you all have a lovely half term break and we look forward to seeing you all back at school the week beginning 4th November.
