Maths
In Maths this week Year 1 were ordering Numbers using a tens frame. They were able to sequence three numbers from smallest amount to largest amount.
Year 2 children were working on the final part of their place value unit. They were able to order both objects and numbers. They used the language of ‘most’, ‘fewest’, ‘least’ and ‘greatest’.
Writing
We completed our first writing unit this week. The children were able to adapt the story of the Three Billy Goats Gruff to create their own versions with a change of main characters. We focused on using adjectives to describe in Year 2 while Year 1s focused on writing sentences that were easy to read and completed with a full stop.
In our History lesson this week, we collaborated to sequence the significant events of the Great Fire of London, and afterwards, the children took on the challenge of arranging the events independently. To reinforce our learning, we created a class timeline that highlights the key moments during this pivotal historical event.
