Jaguars Week 2 20/09/24

24 September 2024
Jaguars

I can’t quite believe how fast time flies and how soon it comes to debriefing on our week once more.

This week has been full of lots of lovely lessons and activities. We started the week by discussing and sharing an understanding of the British Value Tolerance in our school Assembly. The children were able to review what they had already learnt.

In Maths this week the children have been learning how to flexibly partition numbers to 1000, use place value charts and counters to discuss the difference between hundreds, tens and ones and find 1, 10 and 100 more or less than a given number.

In Writing this week the children have been boxing up their model text ‘Mr Big’ we have discussed new ways in which we can include character description and have even taken a KS1 text and improved this to make it worthy of our Year 3 standard.

In PE this week the children have been continuing their learning of our skill ‘Travel’ in gymnastics. This has involved many body shape changes, high, medium and low movements and even including equipment in our skill performances.

Spellings for next weeks test (27.9.24) are as follows:

Homework for (27.9.24) is as follows:

In Geography this week the children have secured their knowledge of the United Kingdom. Looking in particular at the 4 country names, the flags and physical and human features within these areas. The children also had fun pointing to the UK on a world map and then seeing a zoomed in version as we looked at the continent of Europe.
