Week Beginning 5th May
This week the children have learnt a little about VE Day. They made flags and waved them during our VE Day lunch outside.
They have been learning about sequencing, using specific words such as first, next, then, after that. The children looked at the story of The Three Little Pigs, sequencing pictures and role playing each section. They also used Beebot and sent him to the little pig’s houses in the correct order.
Over the past couple of weeks the children have been learning our class story, Dear Zoo. We talked about what animals they would like to be sent and painted a picture of their favourite.
They have been continuing to develop their fine motor skills in dough disco, rolling, squashing and squeezing the dough, as well as using lots of funky finger activities.
Next week the children will continue with their daily dough disco and funky finger activities and also name writing. The older children will continue with their daily phonics sessions. They will also learn about where milk comes from.
