Week Beginning 28th April
It has been lovely to see everyone back for our first full week of the term and what lovely weather we have had. We have welcomed some new children this term, who have settled really well into our setting.
The children have been learning all about shape this week, recognising & naming them in pictures and the environment. They have been creating their own models and pictures using shape.
The older preschool children have started to learn to verbally Fred talk and say words in their first phonics sessions.
They have been coontinuing to develop their fine motor skills in dough disco, rolling, squashing and squeezing the dough.
The children have also been looking at the lifecycle of a chicken.
Next week the children will learn a little about VE Day and why we celebrate it. On Thursday the children can come into school wearing red, white and blue and we will have a whole school shared lunch outside to commemorate VE Day. The children will continue with their daily dough disco and funky finger activities and also name writing. The older children will continue with their daily phonics sessions.
