Week Beginning 19th May
Over the past couple of weeks the children have been looking at and learning sequences. They have looked at how to make jam sandwiches and how to grow cress seeds, learning the sequence of actions so they can have a successful outcome.
They have innovated the class story changing it from Dear Zoo into Dear Farm. The children chose different farm animals to add to the story, learning the new version and then performing it to Big Owls.
We also looked at where wool comes from.
The older children have been learning the first 3 sounds in phonics, saying the accompanying picture and the sound.
They have been continuing to develop their fine motor skills in dough disco, rolling, squashing and squeezing the dough, as well as using lots of funky finger activities.
After half term the children will continue with their daily dough disco and funky finger activities and also name writing. The older children will continue with their daily phonics sessions, learning some new sounds. They will also learn about the different jobs on a farm.
