An excellent week in Panthers this week!
On Wednesday, Panthers visited Chester house as part of their History learning. They had a great time making clay oil lamps, writing their names in Latin with ink, as well as looking at and comparing artefacts. They also looked around the museum where they learnt some very interesting things such as Roman diet and even got to smell some scents from their time. They all behaved excellently and were complemented on their impressive knowledge!
In graphics, children have started to design their very own poster about a topic of their choice using graphic design features which we have been learning about.
In Maths, children have been looking at equivalent fractions and decimals. I have been impressed with their knowledge and they are all able to write tenths as fractions.
In History, we have looked at comparing Roman villages to those from the Iron age, looking at advancements and changes that occurred. As well as this, we have learnt about Boudicca and her involvement during the Roman times.
In science, we did a colour changing flowers experiment to show how water travels through the stem in a plant. Children were amazed with the results! We also had a visitor tell us all about plant safety and showed us some poisonous plants.

Reading:
Children should be reading 5 times a week. Reading records will be checked on Wednesdays.
Times tables:
Children should be practicing their times tables weekly on TT rockstars in preparation for their times table test on Friday afternoons.
