A busy and enjoyable week in Panthers!
This week was science week, and the theme was ‘Change & Adapt’. On Tuesday, we were lucky enough to take part in a ‘Rubbish rhythms’ workshop where children used everyday objects to create sound and rhythm. They created some fantastic sounds and all had to work really carefully together to make sure their sounds worked as a class.
As well as this, Panthers class looked at different animals and identified how they adapt to their environment. They firstly matched different animals to their adaptations, and then chose an animal to research about. They had a great time guessing each other’s animals based on their adaptations!
In graphics, children had a great go at drawing a self-portrait in the style of Freyja Crow. They thought really carefully about the lines and textures in their art pieces.
In Maths, children have been looking at adding and subtracting fractions, remembering to keep the denominator the same! They are working really hard on remembering how to convert a mixed number to an improper fraction and vice versa.
In Geography, we explored different landmarks in Spain, including la Sagrada Familia and Parc Guell. They were very intrigued about the different architectures and very excited to tell their Spanish teacher all about it!
Children will be doing Tennis on Thursday mornings which will replace Tuesday PE. GLK PE will be as normal on a Friday.
