Week Beginning 17th March
This week the children have been learning about the signs of Spring. We went on a Spring hunt in the lovely weather and found lots of signs including daffodils, a bird’s nest, some bees and some blossom, the children ticked off all the things they found.
They also had fun using the large equipment in PE with Mr Roberts from Wollaston school.
Maths
The children have been revisiting and using the counting rules, working with a partner to demonstrate these. They have been counting forwards and backwards to 20.
Literacy
The children have continued to work on the story of Jack and the Beanstalk. They have ordered the main parts of the story and have been writing sentences to match these. They also planted seeds to grow their own beanstalks.
We also took advantage of the warm weather on Thursday to create some collaborative art.
Next week we will be starting to learn about Easter and the different farm animals that are born this time of year. The children will be innovating the story of Jack & the Beanstalk. In Maths the children will be using their subitising skills. On Thursday they will continue to take part in tennis coaching, please ensure their PE kits remain in school for this.
