Week Beginning 3rd March
We are at the end of another busy week. On Tuesday the children helped to make pancakes and enjoyed eating them! At the end of the day they had great fun participating in some quick pancake races on the playground – thank you to those parents who arrived ten minutes earlier to watch this.
Thursday was World Book Day, the children looked amazing in their Julia Donaldson themed costumes. During the day they took part in a range of activities such as using playdough to make Superworm, making magic potions in the water tray and making magic wands out of sticks. Well done to the winner of our class costume competition who took home an Easter egg. Thank you to all parents for engaging in this and providing your child with a costume.
The children have continued to work on their fine motor skills this week and have been using scissors to cut along different lines or make simple cuts in paper. They created a huge picture of the giant from Jack and the Beanstalk, describing what they think he looks like. They decided he would have red skin and holes in his clothes!
Next week it is National Science Week, the theme this year is Change and Adapt and we will be focussing on caterpillars to learn about this. The children will continue with their daily dough disco and funky finger activities and also name writing. There will also be lots of activities to help them use the language of more and less to compare amounts.
