Week Beginning 17th March
This week the children have been learning about the signs of Spring. We went on a Spring hunt in the lovely weather and found lots of signs including daffodils, a bird’s nest, some bees and some blossom, the children ticked off all the things they found.
The children have been working on their number skills this week. They have been ordering Numberblocks and numbers and they have been problem solving missing numbers or mistakes in number sequences.
They showed their knowledge of Jack and the Beanstalk by ordering pictures from the story and they made their own beanstalks using paint and card – they even drew the giant at the top and Jack at the bottom of the beanstalk. The children planted some seeds to hopefully grow their own beanstalks.
The children also did some collaborative art outside.
Next week we will be starting to learn about Easter and new life, looking at the types of farm animals that are born this time of year. The children will continue with their daily dough disco and funky finger activities and also name writing. There will also be lots of activities to help them count and match numerals with amounts.
