On Monday this week the children had an assembly from the site manager of the construction and building taking place at the bottom of Allen’s Hill. They enjoyed learning more about the safety aspects of the site and what they would be able to see upon completion.
On Tuesday Jaguars went on a class trip to Norwich museum. They learnt a lot about the Ancient Egyptian period of time from Mummification right through to the Artefacts left behind and jewellery they wore. Thank you once again to parents and carers who were understanding of timings and arrival for travelling back to school. Pictures below.

Writing
In Writing this week the children were able to complete a box up of the model text they have been looking at, begin to understand the features of a wishing tale text and begin to build a toolkot based on what we would find in a wishing tale and the dialogue that is used to show conversations that are happening.
Maths
This week the children have began their learning of mass and capacity by looking at scales, measuring in mass and measuring in mass and kilograms. We have discovered that 1000g = 1kg and that the intervals scales have can have different values e.g. 100g if there are 10 intervals, 250g if there are 4 intervals and 500g if there are 2 intervals.
Science
During Science this week the children conducted an experiment to compare how quickly sugar dissolved. They had 2 types of sugar white and brown and instead of sugar cubes for our solid they used energy tablets which fizzed. The children discovered that the tablets took the least time to dissolve in water whereas the white sugar took the most amount of time. The children decided to change 1 thing and keep 1 thing the same in their experiments. These were either the amount of water used to fill cups or the size of cup. They also conducted an experiment with Mrs Bertacchi last week to see whether they could change the colour of petals in flowers. See below.
