On Monday this week we had an assembly based on World Book Day to recap on and remind ourselves of the upcoming celebrations. The school councillors and Health Ambassadors were also able to showcase their latest events that they were taking part in.
On Thursday we celebrated World Book Day. There were so many wonderful costumes and smiles all around which made our day very special. We based the majority of our learning around Matilda for this day!
Mr Flynn wanted to jump in on the action with his Mr Wonka costume!

Writing
In Writing this week the children have completed their cold writes based on a wishing tale, they have completed a Hook lessons which has looked at the key positives and negatives of wishes and they have began to map out their model text of either ‘Grolt – The Cautionary Tale about Greed’ or ‘The Lonely Bear’.
Maths
This week the children have been completing a lot of work on fractions. We started the week by looking at unit fractions and denominators, to then looking at non-unit fractions and numerators. The children finished the week with comparing and ordering both – they have found this easy peasy and have enjoyed the learning in this unit so far!
Computing
During Computing this week the children used their desktop publishing skills to create either a poster or an invitation. They were very computer literate in terms of their knowledge when recapping on the tools they can use in the app ‘Publisher’ and the ideas they decided to put together to create their piece.
