This week saw Monday as our welcome back to school assembly after our half term week off. I hope the children enjoyed some rest and relaxation over the half term – we have enjoyed welcoming them back this week. On Tuesday the children had a church assembly.
Incase you missed it – we carried out some cooking at the end of last term where we made Viking Pancakes as a class – the children really enjoyed this extra curricular activity and were very pleased with the outcome – pictures attached!

Writing
In Writing this week the children completed their final stages of their diary entries. They had more time to finish their warm writes using their box up innovated ideas, then were able to mark their work against a teachers toolkit and finally wrote their hot writes towards the end of the week. We also managed to begin our cold writes for our next unit (wishing tales).
Maths
This week the children have been looking at perimeter of shapes: what is it, measuring and calculating it. The children have also undergone their final paper of the Spring term – Reasoning. They really have worked hard and put a lot of effort into the new term already.
History
During History this week the children have been looking at Egyptian Gods and Goddesses – they particularly enjoyed looking at Sekhmet who was a warrior and healing goddess, it is said that she would help heal the wounded when they were in battle. Tutankhamun was another – he was a pharaoh who become a leader very young, a lot of people looked up to him. The children were able to easily recall information about these and more throughout the lesson.
