A great first week back after a short break. The children have come back positive and ready to learn.
This week in History we explored how Claudius gained his power and the events leading up to him invading Britain.
In Graphics, children have had a go at creating a logo which represents themselves.
In Maths, children have started to learn about fractions including mixed numbers and improper fractions where they have been exploring the whole and counting forwards and backwards from the whole.
Children had an excellent first tennis session where they learnt backhand and forehand passes. They even had a go at practicing some skills involving hitting the ball with the rim and handle of the racket.
Children will be doing Tennis on Thursday mornings which will replace Tuesday PE. GLK PE will be as normal on a Friday.
Spellings-
(tested on the 7th of March)
Group 1- scientist, scented, scenery, descend, ascend.
Group 3- eye, any, many, class.
Reading:
Children should be reading 5 times a week. Reading records will be checked on Wednesdays.
Times tables:
Children should be practicing their times tables weekly on TT rockstars in preparation for their times table test on Friday afternoons.
