Week Beginning 3rd February
This week the children have been learning about trains and sharing lots of facts they know about them. They looked at different types of trains and sorted them into ‘then’ and ‘now’ to show their understanding of trains in the past and modern trains. They have been having great fun role playing with our big junk model train, imagining all the places they are visiting.
Maths
The children have been ordering numbers to 10 this week, thinking about smaller and larger numbers. They have been identifying numbers that are ‘more than’ and ‘less than’ any given number.
Literacy
This week we have been innovating our class story. The children picked five different animals they would like in the story of Mr Gumpy and the action that those animals are doing in the boat. Next week, the children will use these ideas to rewrite a small part of the story.
It has been great to see the children wearing their scarves to school today to celebrate mental health awareness.
