Week Beginning 10th February
This week the children have been looking at boats and the different types. They have enjoyed making their own boats and floating them in the water tray. The children also completed a floating and sinking mission independently and investigated what happens to paper boats.
On Monday we got the parachute out in PE and the children enjoyed playing lots of games to strengthen the muscles in their arms and hands.
Maths
This week the children have been finding different ways of making the number 7. They realised that it doesn’t matter which way round the numbers go (2 and 5 or 5 and 2) the answer will still be the same. We have also been working on counting backwards from 20 to 10 as the teens numbers can be a little tricky!
Literacy
This week the children wrote their innovation of the boat scene from Mr Gumpy’s Outing. They were introduced to the use of capital letters and full stops. They were very good at remembering to put full stops in the right places!
We had another successful Book and Biscuit session on Wednesday. Thank you to all those who attended, it was great to see so many adults supporting this.
We hope you have a lovely half term and looking forward to seeing everyone back in school on Monday 24th February.
