Week Beginning 20th January
What a great start to the new term we have had and a busy couple of weeks. We have had some new children start with us and they have all settled in really well, as though they have been here all the time.
This term we are following the theme Time to Move and we started this by looking at the local area around school. We talked about road safety and we went for a walk around the village spotting lots of different things.
We talked about the different ways everyone travels to school and we looked at photographs of their house, spotting the house numbers and other features. The children then painted pictures of their houses.
The children have looked at different types of transport, looking at whether they go on the road, in the air, on the water or on rails. The children looked at how many wheels the different vehicles have. They have enjoyed role playing garages outside, fixing the bikes and pumping up the tyres!
