*Please bring a warm coat to school on Monday as we will be going on a Village walk for our Geography Lesson.*
This week Year 1 have been learning about counting systematically. We took large groups of objects and practiced counting them in a sensible order. We used tens frames and number mats to help us.
We then used our counting skills to show what we know for different Maths questions in our books.
This week we have also been working as a class to change the story of The Three Billy Goats Gruff. As a class we decided to change the main characters to cats who needed to cross the bridge to find some smelly fish. What an exciting story we made!
Our grammar focus this week has been identifying common nouns. We have been able to group common nouns into person, place and thing and we have been able to answer tricky challenges about them to show what we know.
In our Science lessons we have been working on understanding ‘Seasonal Change’.
This week we made some incredible work that is going to go on the classroom wall. We can’t wait for you to see it when you pick up and drop off.
